Mentone Girls Yr 11 Blog

The Summit had the pleasure to have the year ten students and teachers from Mentone Girls Secondary College from Wednesday 30th August -1st September. The weather would turn out to be perfect for all the rotations of activities. It was a fun filled three days with 9 activities being completed between 12 tribe groups.

There were great names coming from the tribes, some which had their own little inside tribe meanings. The names 10.54, Spud Lingo, Oaker Piper, Unco, Beefiers, Sumb Gorillas, Wolf Pack, Cones, Turbo Ninjas and Avocado.

Group challenges were Bush Challenge and Snowy River Challenge. Not all tribes completed these challenges but the winners for the Snowy River Challenge were 10.54 with a time of 24:08 and for Bush Challenge was Spud Lingo with 23:42. Great work from all tribes but special mention to both the winning tribes.

Matt’s morning intention and gratitude had everyone glued to his story from the morning and how an apple seed can continue to share its wealth if looked after. The introduction to the world greatest dance had everyone up and singing and dancing to get us all pumped for the last day.

Each tribe at the end of camp voted for person/persons who lived and followed the five keys to the best of their ability. These people would be acknowledged and rewarded with a ride in our W.W II army tank. Congratulations to the following reward winners: Liv, Charlotte, Rita, Hayley, Ruby, Darcy, Danny, Eva, Sarah, Darcy, Maggie, Alia, Emily and Carine. Well done ladies on such a great effort throughout your camp experience.
