Islamic College of Melbourne – Boys Camp
Wednesday brought the Grade Fives from Islamic College of Melbourne - Boys Camp to The Summit. Introductions started the camp and the everyone learnt about the Five Keys: Play All In, Have Fun, Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable, Make Lots Of Mistakes, and, Don’t Go Home Wondering What If. We then learnt about the goal setting strategy, Target, Stretch, Super Stretch. It was then time to hit the ground running, completing Giant Swing, Inflatables, and High Wire. The end of the day was here before we knew it!
Day Two started with the introduction of Morning Intentions and choosing who you want to be for the day. The morning saw three rotations of Abseil, Snake & Nails, and Scavenger Hunt, with everyone having a focus of making mistakes, and getting outside their comfort zone. After lunch we had one rotation of Flying Fox, Tash’s Ladder, and Bush Challenge. Then, it was time for our famous Monster Course. The Monster Course had everyone carrying tyres, throwing balls, pulling sleds, crawling under a log and getting a bit wet and dirty. Everyone stood up to the challenge of The Monster Course so incredibly well!
Day Three started with some gratitude before heading out to complete the last of the rotations. Everyone’s focus was on not going home wondering what if and, then suddenly, we were done! Results were announced and it was almost time to say goodbye!
Thank you to all the boys who worked hard and played harder!
