Rosebud Secondary College
The Summit Adventure Park had the pleasure of having the leaders from Rosebud Secondary College join them for their 3 day camp from Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th of December 2019.
After being introduced to our 5 Keys, Have Fun, Play All In, Make Lots of Mistakes, Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable and Don’t Go Home Wondering What If, it was time to head out to the park for our first day of activities.
First up was the Flying Fox and our Inflatables, everyone embraced the heat and gave everything a red hot go. With day two upon us, and an epic program planned, we started the off with morning intentions and what we wanted our day to look like. We then head out for a big group game of jockeys and straight into our next lot of rotations. Abseil and Laser Tag were first up, and with plenty of encouragement being heard from the top of the tower and some healthy competition out in the laser field everyone was having a blast. After lunch and plenty of games of Ga Ga Ball it was time for a Scavenger Hunt and The Rock Wall, a huge congratulations to everyone making to the top of both walls and really pushing themselves. Up next it was time for our Monster Challenge, with students trying to set the fastest time they could within their tribes while getting wet, muddy and super dirty. After completing the first lap everyone was then told that we were racing again and the team that won the Monster Course Challenge would be the team that improved their time by the most on the second lap. Instead, both teams joined up for one massive second lap and completed the course all together, proving just how good their team work really was. (Team 1 first lap time 45 minutes 28 seconds, Team 2 first lap time 43 minutes 23 seconds and the combined lap 2 time 37 minutes 34seconds). With the final day upon us we got the ball rolling with our morning gratitude and sharing things that we are grateful for in our lives. Getting our bodies moving we started with a game of Huckle Buckle then got stuck into our final two activities, Summit Window and The Sky Bridge. Everyone tested themselves on top of our Big Tower and watching them all make the journey across the lake and putting The Summit’s 5 Keys into action was awesome to see.
After an epic 3 days it was unfortunately time to say goodbye.
Thank you again to everyone who came to The Summit and had an awesome 3 days with us.
Cheers Cam, Nik and Madz
