Wellington Secondary College
We welcomed the Year 11s & 12s from Wellington Secondary College to The Summit on March 10th to 11th for their 2-day camp. Fresh off the bus the students were introduced to our 5 Keys - Have Fun, Play All In, Make Lots of Mistakes, Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable and Don’t Go Home Wondering What If. The % Keys would ensure that everyone would have an awesome time at camp. We then got into our respective tribes and headed out to the park to get going into our day of activities with Summit Window, The Cave, Giant Swing, and Bush Challenge. These activities would test our teams' working abilities and push everyone individually outside their comfort zones. It was great to see all the students giving everything a red hot crack. After lunch, we finished off the last of our activities and then got straight into our epic Monster Course which saw each team compete in a series of obstacles around the park. The students gave everything they have during the 1st lap and pushed themselves, even more, on the 2nd run knowing how the champions are to be selected. Huge congratulations to everyone who completed the course and to every team on improving their times. With our final day upon us, we started out on setting Morning Intentions and sharing with everyone what we wanted to get out of our day and how we wanted it to look like. 2nd on the day's agenda was to get our bodies moving with a couple of games of Finger Fencing and Huckle Buckle which were just what we needed. And wrapping the day up were the following action-packed programs; Leap of Faith, Snowy River Challenge, Sky Bridge, Inflatables and a meet and greet with our resident python, Mitch, at lunchtime. This gave everyone one last chance to test their limits and conquer doubts and fears on camp. In our final debrief each tribe voted on a person who they thought lived camp by our 5 Keys. These people were rewarded with a hot lap in our WW2 Army Tank, well done to Kosta (Just Greg), Nick (Hickeys), Jake (Cookers Cafe) and Ian (Turtles) who were voted by their peers. Once again Cam, Paris, Kyle and Jackie would like to thank everyone from Wellington Secondary College who came along to The Summit.
