Bairnsdale Secondary College Blog
On Wednesday the 16th of August we welcomed a bunch of legendary year 7’s from Bairnsdale Secondary, thanks for making the trip down. It was so awesome to see you all push yourself outside your comfort zones on numerous occasions. We all hope you had the best time playing all in with us. Over the last two and a half days the students completed many activities that helped them push beyond their limits and achieve incredible super stretches. These activities involved the students leaping off our big tower 12 meters in the air to grab our Leap of Faith bar, racing each other on the Inflatable world, Flying Foxing over The Summit's very own lake, and coming together as a team to complete the Snowy River Challenge and to get the blood pumping the students got the opportunity to climb 19 meters in the air lean back on The Summit Window, letting go with two arms and one leg. Talk about getting comfortable being uncomfortable. During the students' time at camp, we played many games to help warm up our bodies such as Jockeys, Sawed Fencing and 50 Up. We hoped you enjoyed having all the fun with us.
Each morning we started the day by setting ourselves up for success. The first morning we heard from our coach Mesh, and she told us all about setting ourselves a morning intention and the value behind doing this practice daily, on the second morning we heard from Shane, and he shared an incredible morning session about gratitude and how powerful it is to start your day with acknowledging all the things we have to be thankful for.
To all the students who set themselves a target, stretch, and super stretch we hope it helped you unleash all your inner greatness. A few of the coaches said, “the huge smiles on the students' faces make our job so rewarding”. Not only did you all crush it out on the activities, but you also played all in when completing not only one lap of the Monster Course but TWO. Incredible efforts to all those who gave it their absolute best. We hope now you have an incredible reference of how much more you can bring to the table when you don’t think you have anything else to offer.
Every team improved by 4 minutes or more. Super impressive!!!!
Speaking of super impressive, how cool was the Giant Swing? The students got to swing on the tallest swing in Victoria, navigate their way through our very own man-made Cave, balancing over the very wobbly and challenging Sky Bridge, sliding around and dodging being tag on the Laser field and lastly completing one or more of our rock climbing walls. Again, awesome efforts, to all those who gave everything their absolute best.
To bring camp to a close we got all the students to vote for one person in their group who lived by our Summit's Five Keys- congratulations to the following people.

2. Aiden & Kayla
