On Wednesday afternoon, 25th February 2026, the Years 5 and 6 students and teachers from Belmont Primary School rolled through The Summit gates full of excitement and anticipation for the adventure ahead. After settling into their accommodation, everyone gathered in the Stadium where Coach Spinks (Steph) welcomed the group and introduced the coaching team who would be guiding them through the next few unforgettable days.
Before launching into the activities, students learned The Summit’s secret recipe for the best camp ever — the Five Keys.
The Five Keys
- Have Fun
- Play All In
- Make Lots of Mistakes
- Get Uncomfortable
- Don’t Go Home Wondering ‘What If’
From there, the group headed to the Activity Hub for their helmet and harness safety brief with Mim and Lucy, To help students tackle the challenges ahead, Anthony also introduced The Summit’s goal-setting strategy: Target, Stretch, and Super Stretch. This approach encourages students to push beyond their comfort zones by setting achievable goals and building confidence step by step.
After a helmet and harness safety briefing from Christopher and Chris, the students warmed up with a fun game of 50 Up, bouncing a ball higher and higher until they passed the 100-bounce mark. Energy was high and everyone was ready to begin.
Activities & Tribe Names
Before activity rotations began, students took on several initiative challenges, working together to solve problems and build teamwork within their groups.
Across their rotations, students tackled a huge variety of activities including:
- Bag Blitz
- Bush Challenge
- Inflatables
- Tash’s Ladder
- Rock Wall
- Laser Skirmish
- Flying Fox
The tribes also created their own team identities, coming up with some very creative Tribe Names that would represent them across the camp challenges.
Students were also introduced to one of The Summit’s favourite traditions — GMICs (Great Moments in Camp). Throughout the camp, students wrote down and shared the special moments that made their experience memorable.
Day Two – Intention & Monster Energy
The second day began with a powerful conversation about Morning Intention. Students were encouraged to think about how they wanted to show up for the day ahead and to focus on what they could control — their attitude, effort, and how they support their teammates.
To wake everyone up, the group jumped into a fun warm-up game called Big Star, Little Star, getting everyone moving and ready for another action-packed day.
From there, students dove into three activity rotations, pushing themselves through challenges, cheering each other on, and smashing their goals — even in the warm weather.
After lunch and two final activity rotations, it was finally time for one of the biggest challenges of camp.
The Monster Course
The countdown began and teams launched into the Monster Course, an epic obstacle race designed to test teamwork, strength, and resilience.
Students powered through the muddy course together, completing their first lap with determination. But the real twist came when they discovered the winning team wouldn’t be the fastest — it would be the team with the biggest improvement on their second lap.
With their Target, Stretch, and Super Stretch times in mind, every team dug deep and gave it everything they had during the second lap. Muddy, tired, and proud, the students crossed the finish line stronger than when they started.
After showers, dinner, and an evening activity, everyone headed to bed for a well-earned rest.
Final Day – Reflection & Celebration
As the final morning arrived, the group gathered together to share some of the incredible GMICs from the past few days.
Students then participated in a final reflection activity called Rock, Stick, and Leaf:
- Rock – Something that rocked about camp
- Stick – Something they’ll take with them from camp
- Leaf – Something they’re ready to leave behind
Each tribe then voted for a Values Winner — someone who had truly embodied The Summit’s Five Keys throughout the camp.
