    Year 7 camps

    Year 7 transition camps inVictoria

The first weeks of secondary school decide a lot. A Year 7 camp at The Summit helps a new cohort settle in, make friends and feel like they belong, before the year properly begins.

A camp built for the start of secondary school

Year 7 is a big jump. New school, new faces, new expectations. A camp early in the year does more for belonging than a term of classroom time. Our team designs the program around exactly that: mixing students up, breaking the ice, and giving every new student a few early wins and a few new friends to start the year with.

Adventure pitched right for the age

Students take on more than 40 activities, from the Giant Swing and Flying Fox to team challenges, the Bush Challenge and the Snowy River Challenge. Our staff run and pitch every session to a Year 7 group's confidence, so it is exciting without tipping into overwhelming. They will come home tired, muddy, proud and a little braver than when they left.

Easy for teachers, reassuring for parents

Every activity is facilitated and supervised by trained Summit staff. Teachers and leaders stay on site in dedicated twin-share accommodation, close to their students. Accommodation, catering and activities are all in one place, 90 minutes from Melbourne. We are NARTA accredited and members of the Australian Camps Association and School Camps Victoria, and we have been doing this for Victorian schools since 2008.

"We have been taking our Yr 7's to The Summit for 8 years now. Year after year the girls say 'that was the best camp I have ever been on.'"
