On Wednesday, 21st October, 104 Year 5 students and 15 teachers from Croydon Hills Primary School arrived at The Summit, ready for three days of teamwork, challenge and fun. Seven tribes, a packed program and some of the best energy the site has seen all year!

After settling in and refuelling over lunch, everyone came together for the official welcome and an introduction to The Summit's Five Keys.

    THE FIVE KEYS

    • Have Fun
    • Play All In
    • Make Lots of Mistakes
    • Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
    • Don't Go Home Wondering "What If"

Next came the Target, Stretch and Super Stretch goal-setting strategy, giving every student a way to take on the challenges ahead.

Target — what you know you can do.

Stretch — what you think you can do.

Super Stretch — what you think is impossible.

    ACTIVITIES & TRIBE NAMES

With goals set, all seven tribes spread out across the site for their first rotations. With every activity running at once, the whole park was buzzing from the very first minute.

Across the three days, the tribes took on:

    • Giant Swing
    • Inflatable City
    • Bag Blitz
    • The Cave
    • Summit Window
    • Snowy River Challenge
    • High Wire

The seven tribes for camp were:

    • 7/11
    • j-bob
    • Jeffs Jim Bobs
    • Colourless Fish
    • Boo-a-maa-naa's
    • Go to war
    • Five-Five

By dinner, the GMICs (Great Moments in Camp) were already flowing, as students noticed and celebrated the standout moments they saw in each other. The Croydon Hills teaching team then led the evening program and kept the energy high right through to bedtime.

DAY TWO – INTENTIONS, TRIBE CHALLENGE & THE MONSTER COURSE

Day Two began with Morning Intentions and Gratitude, setting everyone up with a clear focus for the day ahead.

Another full day of rotations followed, with every tribe working through the complete range of activities. Later in the day, all 104 students came together for the Tribe Challenge, before one of The Summit's biggest challenges…

    THE MONSTER COURSE

After a quick change of clothes, all seven tribes hit the legendary Monster Course!

7/11 set the pace with a brilliant 5:21, finishing well clear of the field. j-bob came in second at 5:38, with Jeffs Jim Bobs taking third at 6:02.

FINAL DAY – TRIBE VOTES & FAREWELL

The final day brought the last two activity rotations, before every tribe voted for the teammate who best represented the Five Keys across the three days.

Camp wrapped up with a final debrief, the results and a group photo.
