On Monday afternoon, 28th of July 2025, the students and teachers from Aquinas College rolled through The Summit gates, buzzing with excitement for an unforgettable camp adventure! After being shown to their accommodations and settling in, everyone gathered in the Lodge for an official welcome.

Coach Spinks (Steph) introduced the incredible coaching team, and Calarnee shared The Summit’s secret recipe for the best camp ever, the Five Keys:

    The Five Keys

    1. Have Fun
    2. Play All In
    3. Make Lots of Mistakes
    4. Get Uncomfortable
    5. Don’t Go Home Wondering ‘What If’

With the tone set, the group headed to the Stage where Simon and Lucy ran through the helmet and harness briefing, and Timmay shared the epic Target, Stretch, Super Stretch goal-setting strategy.

    Activities & Tribe Names

The adventure kicked off with two exciting activity rotations, giving students a taste of all The Summit has to offer:

    • Abseil
    • Scavenger Hunt
    • Flying Fox
    • Bush Challenge
    • Snake & Nails
    • Laser Skirmish
    • Sky Bridge
    • Orienteering

Afterwards, each team chose their Tribe Name and learned about the camp tradition of GMICs (Great Moments in Camp), a way to acknowledge the little wins, funny moments, and acts of courage that make camp special. ahead.

Day Two — Intention & Monster Course

Tuesday morning began with a powerful session on morning intention, encouraging students to focus on what they could control, their attitude, effort, and energy. A lively game of Jockeys got everyone moving and laughing before launching into three activity rotations.

Despite mixed weather, the students powered through every challenge with courage and smiles. After lunch and one more activity, it was time for the legendary Monster Course!

This muddy, high-energy obstacle challenge tested teamwork, strength, and resilience. Teams completed their first lap before learning the real twist, the winner would be the team that improved the most on their second lap! Pushing for their Super Stretch goals, every tribe gave it everything they had.

Final Day — Gratitude & Tank Time

On the last morning, Coach Timmay led a gratitude session, inviting students to reflect on who and what they were thankful for. After sharing GMICs, a fun warm-up game of Crane, Tiger, Egg got everyone ready for the final two rotations of camp.

Before leaving, each team voted for a Values Winner, someone who truly embodied the Five Keys. These legends earned an unforgettable reward: a hot lap in The Summit’s Army Tank, cheered on by their peers!
