On a warm Monday afternoon, May 12th, 2025 , the students and teachers of Christway College arrived at The Summit, filled with excitement and ready to kick off an unforgettable five-day camp adventure.
Day One: Welcome to Camp
After checking into their accommodations, students gathered at the Stadium , where Team Leader Spinks introduced them to the space, the staff, and the week ahead. The group met the Summit coaching team and was introduced to our core philosophy, The Five Keys to an Epic Camp Experience :
- Have Fun
- Play All In
- Make Lots of Mistakes
- Get Uncomfortable
- Don’t Go Home Wondering ‘What If’
Each day of camp focused on one key, allowing students to build upon the previous day’s growth in a fun and meaningful way.
Coaches Fran and Calarnee demonstrated how to use their helmets and harnesses safely before introducing the Target, Stretch, and Super Stretch goal-setting strategy, a tool to help break down big challenges into achievable steps.
Students warmed up with a game of 50 Up , where they worked together to achieve 49 consecutive touches after just four attempts! Afterward, each group found their designated meeting spots and wrapped the day up by creating their tribe identities , complete with a name and custom flag.
We ended with a meaningful Summit tradition: GMICs (Great Moments In Camp), a way to share written compliments and affirmations for the awesome things happening all around us.

Day Two: Intention and Expression
The day began with breakfast, followed by an Intention Session with Calarnee, where students explored what they can and can’t control. They set personal intentions for the day, focusing on who they wanted to be, and launched into a high-energy game of Jockeys before jumping into three rounds of activities.
The afternoon featured a creative challenge: each group performed a 20-second team chant , judged on volume, participation, and creativity . The energy was electric!
Day Three: Language and Teamwork
After a gratitude session with Spinks and a round of GMICs, the focus shifted to the power of language , how the words we use (both inside and out) affect not just ourselves, but the whole team.
A lively round of Finger Fencing got bodies moving before three action-packed activity rotations. After lunch, two more activities kept the momentum going, with the day closing out with some free time, dinner, and a fun-filled evening of Trivia .
Day Four: Resilience and the Monster Course
With tired legs but lifted spirits, students returned to the Stadium to reflect on gratitude and set new intentions for the day. After another round of GMICs and a powerful discussion on movement and physiology , students dove into another go at 50 Up , this time smashing it with an impressive 110 touches in just three tries!
After lunch, students gathered for Big Star, Little Star , a repeat-after-me energizer with Spinks, followed by the highly anticipated Monster Course . This epic challenge tested teams on teamwork, resilience, and improvement, with the winning team being the one that improved most between laps.
The day ended with a celebratory rinse on the waterslide , dinner, and more evening fun.
Day Five: Final Reflections and Hot Laps
Though many students were tired, spirits remained high. The final day began with a heartfelt gratitude session , led by Spinks, and a quick intention to “not go home wondering ‘what if’.” A short but powerful video, Soul Pancake’s “Give and Get a Compliment,” set the tone for the day.
After a fun game of Pirates , students took on their final two rotations. The tribes then gathered for one last reflection, where each group selected their Values Winner , a student who truly embodied all five Summit Keys throughout the week.
These five legends were rewarded with a ride in The Summit’s very own WWII Army Tank , cheered on by their peers for their incredible efforts!
