What. A. Camp! On Monday 15 September 2025, Hartwell Primary’s awesome Year 5s rolled through The Summit gates bursting with energy, ready for three days of courage, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. After settling into accommodation, the crew met their coaching team in the Stadium and kicked off an epic adventure.
The Five Keys
- Have Fun
- Play All In
- Make Lots of Mistakes
- Get Uncomfortable
- Don’t Go Home Wondering ‘What If’
Activities & Tribe Names
With safety briefings complete and Target, Stretch, Super Stretch set, the group launched into activities across the park, then created their tribe identities. Activities included: Rockwall, The Cave, Bag Blitz, Tash’s Ladder, Sky Bridge, and the Snowy River Challenge. Tribes became:
- The Summit Fluffy Ducklings
- The Kung Fu Cavemen From The Future
- PB
- The Sigmas of the Summit
- The High Five
Day One — Settling In & First Wins
After intros at the Stadium and a tour of the park from the BBQ Shelter, teams tackled quick initiatives and their first rotation. Confidence grew fast, goals were set, GMICs began, and tribe flags captured the values they wanted to live for the rest of camp.
Day Two — Intention & Momentum
We opened in the Stadium with a powerful Morning Intention session about choosing how we show up. A spirited game of Heads or Tails set the tone before three activity rotations pushed limits and built trust. After burgers for lunch (fuel!), tribes wrote and performed chants, so good we couldn’t pick a winner! Then it was time…
The Monster Course
Two muddy, linked-lap efforts through obstacles like Ball Puzzle, Snowy Net, Muddy Puddles, Ball Pit, Charades, Tarp Catch, and Sleds. The magic twist? Winners are decided by improvement on lap two, resilience in action. Showers never felt so good!
Final Day — Gratitude & Goodbyes
Bags to the bus shelter, breakfast, a mountain of GMICs, then a Gratitude session to finish strong. A laughter-filled round of Jockeys warmed everyone up for the last two activities before final reflections. Tribes shared their Rock, Stick, and Leaf and voted for their Values Winner, legends who lived The Five Keys all camp. Winners capped it off with a hot lap in The Summit’s Army Tank while the team cheered!
Tribe Reflections & Tank Time
- Rock , something that rocked about camp
- Stick , something they’ll take with them
