On the 15th of July, the Year 9 students and teachers from Highvale Secondary College rolled through The Summit gates ready for three days of adventure, challenge, and unforgettable memories. From the moment they arrived, there was an incredible buzz in the air as students met their coaches, settled into their accommodation, and prepared to dive headfirst into camp life. Over the next three days, they would laugh, push beyond their comfort zones, celebrate each other's wins, and discover just how much they were capable of.

    The Five Keys

    1. Have Fun
    2. Play All In
    3. Make Lots of Mistakes
    4. Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
    5. Don't Go Home Wondering "What If"

Day One: Kicking Off the Adventure

After lunch and the official welcome, Team Leader Spinks introduced the incredible coaching crew: Timmy, Ant, Chris, Lucy, Mim, Monty, Sam, Simon, Stevie, and Will. Students were then introduced to The Summit's goal-setting philosophy, Target, Stretch, and Super Stretch, encouraging everyone to aim high and discover what they were truly capable of.

A large group game helped bring these concepts to life before students launched into their first activity rotations. The energy was high from the very beginning as tribes worked together, encouraged one another, and embraced every challenge that came their way.

    Activities & Tribe Names

Across the three days, students took on an epic lineup of Summit activities: Jump Free, Laser Skirmish, Abseiling, Snowy River Challenge, Summit Window, Inflatables, Leap of Faith, Flying Fox, Bag Blitz, High Wire, Giant Swing.

After completing an initiative challenge and discovering their strengths as a team, each group created their tribe name and officially became a crew. Students were also introduced to one of The Summit's favourite traditions, GMICs (Great Moments in Camp), where campers celebrate the standout moments they see in others. The day wrapped up with dinner, evening activities, and plenty of excitement for what was still to come.

Day Two: Intentions, Challenges & Monster Energy

Day Two began with Morning Intentions and Gratitude, giving students the opportunity to focus on what they could control and set an intention for the day ahead. A large group game helped get everyone moving before they launched into another action-packed day of activity rotations.

Whether they were soaring through the air, conquering heights, or supporting their teammates through muddy obstacles, Highvale Secondary College embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and determination. Throughout the day, students continued to embody the Five Keys, playing all in, making mistakes, and getting comfortable being uncomfortable.

    The Monster Course

As evening arrived, it was time for one of The Summit's most legendary traditions, the Night Monster Course.

Under the cover of darkness, tribe after tribe launched into their first lap, navigating obstacles, mud, and plenty of surprises along the way. But as always, there was a twist: victory wouldn't go to the fastest team, but to the team that improved the most on their second run.

Every tribe dug deep, encouraging one another through every obstacle. The results were a powerful reminder of what happens when people commit to growth, embrace discomfort, and refuse to give up. Mud-covered and smiling, students finished the night stronger, more connected, and with plenty of stories to tell. GMICs and a well-earned rest followed after an unforgettable evening.

Final Day: Gratitude & Celebrating Success

As the final morning arrived, students gathered one last time for Morning Intentions and Gratitude, reflecting on the people and experiences they were thankful for. The final activity rotations gave everyone one last chance to challenge themselves and make the most of their time at camp.

    Tribe Reflections & Values Winners

Before saying goodbye, each tribe voted for the person who had best embodied The Summit's Five Keys throughout camp. These students were recognised in front of the entire group for their courage, positivity, and willingness to lift others up across the three days.
