From Monday, 19th October to Wednesday, 21st October, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the student leadership group from Iona College Geelong to The Summit for three days of adventure, personal growth, resilience and plenty of unforgettable moments!
From the moment they arrived, this group brought something truly special to camp. Their willingness to give everything a go, their kindness towards one another and the passion they brought to every session made them an absolute joy to work with.
THE FIVE KEYS
Throughout camp, the students were guided by The Summit's Five Keys:
- Have Fun
- Play All In
- Make Lots of Mistakes
- Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
- Don't Go Home Wondering "What If"
INTENTIONS & ADVENTURE
Before jumping into the adventures, the group explored the power of setting an intention and deliberately choosing how they wanted to show up. Through focus, language and physiology, the students learnt how small changes in the way we approach a challenge can make a big difference to how we experience it.
With intentions set and energy levels high, it was time to put those ideas into practice!

Across camp, the tribes took on an action-packed lineup of activities:
- Leap of Faith
- Bush Challenge
- Giant Swing
- Laser Skirmish
- Jump Free
- The Cave
- Abseiling
- High Wire
The three tribes for camp were:
- Pink Fluffy Unicorn (PFU)
- Mud Masters
- Shut Up Leo
THE MONSTER COURSE
In the afternoon, things got a little muddy… and then a whole lot muddier!
The group tackled the legendary Monster Course not once, but twice, embracing every splash, slip and muddy moment along the way. The winning team isn't the fastest, it's the team that improves the most on their second run!
It was the perfect chance to put resilience into action, and a reminder that growth often comes from getting uncomfortable, having a laugh and choosing to keep going when things get tough. If there is one thing this group showed us, it's that they certainly know how to get stuck in!
BELIEF, MINDSET & BOARD BREAK
As the sun went down, the learning continued with the Belief and Mindset session. The students explored the difference between limiting and empowering beliefs, reflecting on the stories we tell ourselves and how those stories shape what we believe is possible.
The session ended with one of The Summit's most powerful experiences: breaking a board with their hand, as a symbol of breaking through their own limiting beliefs.
Watching each student step forward, back themselves and cheer on their peers was something truly special, and a wonderful reminder of what can happen when we challenge the limits we place on ourselves.
FINAL DAY – GRATITUDE & CELEBRATION
The final day brought even more adventure, connection and chances to put their learning into practice.
Before wrapping up, the group took a moment to focus on gratitude. From the big things to the seemingly small ones, like having clean water to drink, the students were encouraged to pause, reflect and recognise just how much there is to be grateful for.
Camp finished with a final round of activities, plenty of laughs and the announcement of the camp results and Values Award medal winners.

A huge thank you to the Iona College leadership group for bringing so much heart, energy and enthusiasm to The Summit. It was a privilege to be part of your leadership journey and to watch you challenge yourselves, encourage one another and grow together.
We hope you head home a little braver, a little more confident and ready to take everything you have learnt back into your school and community. Keep setting those intentions, choosing empowering beliefs and practising gratitude.
