    School Visit

    October 2026

    Back to blog

From Wednesday, 21st October to Friday, 23rd October, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Grade 3 and 4 students from Sacred Heart Sandringham to The Summit for an action-packed camp full of adventure, personal growth and plenty of fun!

After arriving, the students met their coaches, Cal, Canada, Monty and Stevie, before diving into The Summit's famous Five Keys.

    THE FIVE KEYS

    • Have Fun
    • Play All In
    • Make Lots of Mistakes
    • Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
    • Don't Go Home Wondering "What If"

These values set the tone for the days ahead, encouraging everyone to embrace challenges, support one another and make the most of every opportunity.

Down at the Stage, the coaches introduced the GAS goal-setting strategy:

Give It a Go — have a try, even when it feels new.

Ability — recognise what you are capable of.

Support — help each other to get there.

    ACTIVITIES & TRIBE NAMES

With the foundations set, it was time to put those ideas into action!

Across camp, the tribes took on:

    • Flying Fox
    • Tash's Ladder
    • Laser Skirmish
    • Scavenger Hunt
    • Rock Wall
    • Bush Challenge
    • Orienteering

The two tribes for camp were:

    • Rubber Duckies
    • Rizzlers

DAY TWO – BIRTHDAYS, BUSH CHALLENGE & THE MONSTER COURSE

Day Two kicked off with a reminder to make it a great day, followed by a special birthday singalong for one of the students! A game of Get Loose at the Stage then got everyone moving and the energy levels up.

At lunchtime, the Grade 3 students farewelled camp and headed home, while the Grade 4 students carried on their adventure with the Rock Wall and Bush Challenge.

But the biggest challenge of the day was still to come…

    THE MONSTER COURSE

The students took on the legendary Monster Course, not once, but twice!

It was all about building resilience: pushing forward, bouncing back when things got tough and discovering what they could achieve when they refused to give up.

After all that hard work, they certainly earned their reward: a refreshing trip down the waterslide to wash off the mud!

FINAL DAY – GRATITUDE, ORIENTEERING & TANK TIME

On the final day, the students took a moment to reflect on what they are grateful for, appreciating the people, experiences and opportunities that make a difference in their lives.

They then joined forces with the students from St Agnes Primary School for a group game, made even more fun by the fact that many of them already knew each other!

After one last activity rotation, it was time for the full-team Orienteering expedition. The tribes went head-to-head, navigating their way around The Summit, finding checkpoints and solving riddles along the way. It was the perfect test of communication, problem-solving and teamwork!

To wrap up camp, everyone gathered for the results, the Values Winners and the Teacher's Pick, with the winners rewarded with a hot lap in The Summit's very own Army Tank!

🏅 AND THE VALUES WINNERS ARE:

    • Rubber Duckies – Edie
    • Rizzlers – Ella
    • Teacher's Pick – Ryder

These students were recognised for showing the courage, teamwork and positive attitude that make the Five Keys come alive at camp.
