We were buzzing with excitement on a chilly but thrilling Wednesday morning as the buses from Rosanna Golf Links Primary School rolled through the gates of The Summit. The energy was electric, and the enthusiasm from our new little legends was absolutely contagious!
Day One: Welcome, Energy & Identity
We kicked things off with an epic welcome at the Stadium , where our team of Summit coaches met with the students and teachers to introduce our philosophy built around The 5 Keys :
- Have Fun
- Play All In
- Make Lots of Mistakes
- Get Uncomfortable
- Don’t Go Home Wondering ‘What If’
After some high-energy games and gear introductions, we showed everyone how to set Targets, Stretches, and Super Stretches to help them tackle any challenge, no matter how big or scary it seemed.
The first rotation of activities was a huge hit, Tash’s Ladder and the Giant Swing were instant favourites! Students also tackled Orienteering , Cave , Bush Challenge , and the unexpectedly tricky High Wire .
Later that day, each group dove into their creative side by forming their Tribe Identity , complete with names, flags, and chants. Check out their awesome tribe names:
- Group 1: Dream Team
- Group 2: #2
- Group 3: The Junior Smurfs
- Group 4: The Indestructibles
- Group 5: Da Minions
After dinner and a magical night walk , it was time to rest (though not many actually slept early ).
Day Two: Intentions, Creatures & Mud
Thursday began with a motivational Intentions Chat from none other than Kid President , setting the tone for another action-packed day.
After a morning of rotations and hamburgers for lunch , the students were called to action for a camp-wide challenge: Magical Creatures . Creatures had escaped from Gumbuya World and were hiding throughout The Summit grounds! Students carefully located and guided these fanciful beings (who looked suspiciously like teachers and coaches in costume) back to safety. The Indestructibles led the charge and took home the win!
But the day didn’t stop there…
We then launched into the wild and wonderful Monster Course , a high-energy obstacle course featuring tyres, water, charades, cargo nets, holey buckets, a ball pit , and, of course, plenty of mud ! The challenge wasn’t about speed, it was about improvement between laps. While everyone gave it their all, it was #2 that claimed the crown with the most improved time!
Day Three: Reflection & Recognition
Friday kicked off with another gem of wisdom from our favourite funny 10-year-old in a Gratitude Chat , helping students reflect on what (and who) they were thankful for during their time at camp.
After completing their final rotations, each tribe gathered to vote for their Values Winner , a teammate who lived out the 5 Keys and helped make camp unforgettable for everyone. These students were recognised in front of the entire camp and rewarded with the ultimate prize: a hot lap in The Summit’s WWII Army Tank , to the cheers and applause of their friends!
We wrapped up the week at the BBQ Shelter , sharing thank-yous, celebrating tribe victories, and reflecting on an incredible few days together.
Thank You!
A massive thank you to Fran, Abi , the amazing staff, parents, and especially the students of Rosanna Golf Links Primary School . Your positivity, courage, and enthusiasm made this camp one to remember.
