On June 18th, the Year 9 students and teachers of Rosehill Secondary College arrived at The Summit with bright eyes, big energy, and a readiness to take on whatever lay ahead. After stepping off the bus and settling in, they met their coaches, Mim, Calarnee, Enis, Milana, and Christopher, who welcomed them and introduced them to the heart of The Summit experience:
The Five Keys
- Have Fun
- Play All In
- Make Lots of Mistakes
- Get Uncomfortable
- Don’t Go Home Wondering ‘What If’
With those values in mind, it was time to begin.
Day One: Getting Started
The first challenge for the students came in the form of initiative games, where each group took on two of five engaging problem-solving tasks:
Treasure
Go-Go-Stop
Spider Web
Half Pipe
Tiles
These games tested communication, creativity, and teamwork, and were the perfect warm-up to the adventure ahead.
Next, students learned about the Target, Stretch, and Super Stretch goal-setting strategy, a powerful tool to help them break down big fears and push their limits. After that, it was harnesses on and helmets clipped as they prepared to rotate through six epic activities:
- Jump Free
- Bush Challenge
- Flying Fox
- Cave
- Summit Window
- Inflatables
Day Two: Intentions, Team Spirit & The Monster Course
Waking up to a new day packed with opportunity, the students started strong with an Intentions Session led by Coach Calarnee, focusing on how choosing a purpose for your day can help you show up with heart and determination.
Although Christopher wasn’t with us for Day Two, the group was excited to welcome Coach Matt into the mix! A quick game of Jockeys got everyone moving and laughing before diving into three activity rotations before lunch.
After a well-earned break, the groups faced off in a classic Tug-of-War Tribe Challenge that had everyone cheering and pulling with all their strength.
But the real test came next: the Monster Course.
Cold, muddy, wet, and wild, it pushed every student physically and mentally. What they didn’t know was that after the first lap… they’d be doing it all again. The second lap symbolised everything The Summit stands for: growth, grit, and going beyond what you thought you were capable of. And every single student rose to the challenge.
Day Three: Reflection and Farewell
Friday morning came with tired eyes but full hearts. Coach Mim led a powerful session on Gratitude, reminding everyone of the importance of appreciating those around us and showing kindness through words and actions.
After their final two activity rotations, the students were asked to reflect on their experience and vote for a Values Winner, someone in their tribe who had truly lived out The Summit’s Five Keys. These incredible individuals were rewarded in the most unforgettable way:
A ride in The Summit’s World War II Army Tank, crushing a car while their peers watched and cheered!
And the Values Winners Are:
- The Wolf Pack , Ari and Mason
- Duck Duck , Harper
- The Ducks , Sam
- The Slay Queen Baddies , Spencer
- Dot. , Zara

Thank You, Rosehill!
To the amazing students and staff of Rosehill Secondary College, thank you for playing all in, getting uncomfortable, and giving everything you had. You faced fears, lifted each other up, and left camp stronger than when you arrived.
We can’t wait to see you again soon. Until then, keep making mistakes, having fun, and never going home wondering what if.
, Mim, Calarnee, Enis, Milana, Matt, Christopher & The Summit Team
