Southern Cross Grammar’s Year 5s burst through The Summit gates on Monday 8 September, buzzing with energy and ready to lean into challenge, growth, and a whole lot of fun. From the very first welcome with coaches Mim, Dailigh, Simon, and Matt, the focus was clear: confidence, leadership, and positive communication, brought to life the Summit way.

Activities & Tribe Names
Tribes: Pastizzi Gladiators • 41’s • Jhono’s Gummy Bears • The Broken Banana’s
Activities experienced: High Wire, Laser Skirmish, Flying Fox, Snake & Nails, Rockwall, Bush Challenge, Tash’s Ladder, Scavenger Hunt
Day One
The crew hit the ground running, meeting their coaching team, learning how camp works, and getting introduced to Target, Stretch, Super Stretch , our simple goal-setting tool that turns “I can’t” into “I did!”
Activities began across the park with courage and cheers flowing in equal measure. Students quickly discovered that when you back yourself and your teammates, big things happen.
Highlights
- High Wire , balancing high in the trees with trust and laser focus.
- Flying Fox , soaring across the sky, nerves to grins in seconds.
- Rockwall , persistence, grit, and that sweet moment you tag the top.
- Laser Skirmish , strategy, communication, and plenty of laughs.
- Snake & Nails , calm courage and careful steps.
- Tash’s Ladder , eyes up, breath steady, one brave step at a time.
Day Two
Time to dial it up! The famous Monster Course (mud run) rolled in, teams vs themselves in a timed challenge across two laps, testing teamwork, resilience, and that never-quit spirit. The vibe? Muddy, loud, supportive, and unforgettable.
Between rotations, groups kept practicing Target, Stretch, Super Stretch, nailing their targets, stretching past what felt possible, and even smashing a few super stretches. That’s where real growth lives!
Final Day
With confidence building and friendships stronger than ever, the final day was all about finishing proud and together. A high-energy Scavenger Hunt wrapped things up, creativity, problem-solving, and maximum team spirit on display. By Wednesday, the transformation was obvious: louder encouragement, braver choices, and students who knew they could do hard things because they’d just done them.
