What a camp! 99 Year 6 students from Templeton Primary School arrived at The Summit ready for three days of adventure, challenge, teamwork and plenty of fun.

With 11 teachers and seven groups bringing the energy, The Summit was ready for a big few days! After settling in and enjoying a self-catered lunch, the students gathered for an introduction to The Summit’s Five Keys and an awesome goal-setting strategy designed to help them tackle every challenge with confidence.

The Five Keys

2. Play All In
3. Make Lots of Mistakes
4. Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
5. Don’t Go Home Wondering “What If”

Day One – Settling in & First Rotations

With the mindset set and goals in place, it was straight into the first activity rotations.

Seven groups spread across the site, with activities running simultaneously across the afternoon:

• Abseiling
• Scavenger Hunt
• High Wire
• Inflatables
• Giant Swing
• Bush Challenge
• Flying Fox

By afternoon tea, the GMICs (Great Moments In Camp) were already flowing, with students recognising teammates who had cheered them through the Abseil, talked them onto the High Wire and helped each other take on the challenges.

It was an awesome start to camp, and there was plenty more to come.

Day Two – Intentions, Gratitude & The Monster Course

Day Two was the full immersion!

The morning began with Intentions and Gratitude, giving students the chance to think about how they wanted to show up for themselves and their teammates.

From there, five more activity rotations worked each group through the full range of Summit experiences.

Then came something unique to Templeton’s program: the Tribe Challenge.

This whole-group session brought all 99 students together before the afternoon’s biggest event.

The Monster Course

After changing and fuelling up with afternoon tea, all 99 students hit the Monster Course.

The challenge was on, with every Tribe pushing themselves through the course and chasing their best possible time.

And there was one standout performance…

b…b…bingo stormed through the course in an incredible 5:59, finishing well clear of the field!

Cheesy Minions followed in 9:25, with Bush Bananas close behind in 9:38.

The students gave it everything, showing plenty of teamwork, determination and resilience along the way.

Final Day – Competition & Going Out Strong

The final morning brought two more activity rotations before it was time for the competitive events—the Bush Challenge and Scavenger Hunt.

The Bush Challenge tested teamwork, communication and determination as the Tribes raced their way through the course.

Bush Bananas crossed the line first in 20:17, followed by Tufff Ducks in 23:37 and b…b…bingo in 24:43.

Then it was time for the Scavenger Hunt, with points up for grabs across the course. b…b…bingo came out on top with an impressive 590 points, followed by Combat Wombats with 510 and Bush Bananas with 458.
