From Wednesday the 13th to Friday the 15th of August 2025, the Year 9 students of Truganina College arrived at The Summit for three unforgettable days of challenge, teamwork, and growth. From the moment the buses rolled in, the energy was high and the group was ready to Play All In.

They were greeted by their coaching team, Calarnee, Timmay, Sam, Ant, and Mag, with Simon joining on Day Two and Cam on Day Three, who introduced them to the values that would guide the adventure ahead.

    The Five Keys

    1. Have Fun
    2. Play All In
    3. Make Lots of Mistakes
    4. Get Uncomfortable
    5. Don’t Go Home Wondering ‘What If’

Students also learned The Summit’s goal-setting strategy: Target → Stretch → Super Stretch , a simple but powerful way to break down challenges and push past limits.

    Activities & Tribe names

Over the three days, tribes tackled a mix of high-adrenaline, muddy, and teamwork-driven activities.

    Highlights included:

    • Jump Free , a giant leap of courage, trusting the system to catch them.
    • Laser Skirmish , weaving through the bushlands in a tactical team challenge.
    • Bag Blitz , speed, communication, and resilience on display.
    • The Cave , conquering fear and total darkness with trust in teammates.
    • Giant Swing , soaring high and facing nerves with bravery.
    • Snowy River Challenge , teamwork through muddy, wet obstacles.
    • High Wire , balancing above the ground and finding inner confidence.

The groups proudly created their tribe names:

    • The Overachievers
    • Unc Dunks
    • Just Doers
    • Stefan’s Shooters
    • 6, 7’s

    Day One — Launching In

From the very first activities, students leaned into courage, laughter, and support for one another. Whether flying, crawling, climbing, or running, they embraced the Five Keys and showed what teamwork looks like at its best.

Day Two — Intention & Monster Energy

Day Two began with Simon leading a Morning Intention session, encouraging students to decide how they wanted to show up for themselves and their tribe. After a fun warm-up game of Huckle Buckle, it was straight into rotations before the lunchtime showdown: Tug of War!

The afternoon brought the most anticipated event, The Monster Course . Students tackled mud pits, crawled under barbed wire, dragged themselves through ball pits, and charged over obstacles as a tribe. After their first lap, coaches spoke about resilience and bouncing back from adversity. Then came the twist: a second lap, where the true champions were crowned by their biggest improvement times.

Covered in mud but overflowing with pride, every student finished stronger than when they began.

Final Day — Gratitude & Strong Finishes

On the last morning, Coach Cal led a powerful Gratitude session , asking students to pause and reflect on what they are thankful for in life. With grateful hearts, the groups completed their final two rotations before gathering to celebrate their achievements, share results, and announce the camp’s Values Winners .
